About Tony Ferguson, President of Advocates USA
Tony Ferguson, born in Baltimore, Maryland, received a BS degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). Upon graduating, Tony taught Mathematics for grades 9-12 for one year at Northern High School in Baltimore.
Following his year of teaching, Tony moved into the technology field and now has 34 years of professional experience in all aspects of Information Technology, covering assignments of progressively increasing technical complexity and managerial responsibility. During this time, Tony also attended the University of Maryland University College, National Leadership Institute. Tony also has certifications from Project Management Institute and ITIL.
Tony has always had a passion for "Making a Difference" in the lives of youths living in disadvantaged situations by devoting his time to mentoring and raising funds for scholarships to provide financial support for high school juniors and seniors preparing to enter college.
Tony is active alumnus of the UMES and currently serves as President of the Advocates USA non-profit organization. He is an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc and VP of Finance / Treasurer of the Kappa Alpha Foundation of Metro Baltimore. He also serves on the board of directors for the Kappa Alpha Psi Alumni Chapter of Baltimore and the Advocates Pro Golf Association.
Tony's passions are Technology and Investments, and his goal is to make a difference in the lives of others. His hobbies are golf, wine, travel, and listening to jazz.
